A Night On The Ales Ends In The Ring For Ainsworth And O'Shea

• Level 31: 60,000-120,000, 20,000 ante

Jude Ainsworth and John O'Shea were among a party of six Irish players who went out on the town in Prague. After a few beers and a game of open-faced Chinese poker, they were booking high stakes boxing matches between each other. PokerStars Blog hears a cautionary tale of ale, Chinese and potential pugilism.

Koutoupas Closes Gap Further

[user169806] • Level 31: 60,000-120,000, 20,000 ante

Sotirios Koutoupas is within touching distance of the chip lead after winning another pot.

Koutoupas opened and Ramzi Jelassi defended with a call. Both players checked the {j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop, but Jelassi lead out with a 300,000 bet upon the arrival of the {8-Diamonds} turn. Koutoupas called and it was off to the {j-Spades} river. Both players checked again.

Jelassi showed {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} but he lost out to the {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} of his Greek opponent.

One Hand, Stacks Evened Up

A huge non showdown pot played out on the first hand of heads up play.

Ramzi Jelassi three-bet a button open from Sotirios Koutoupas and was called en route to a {k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop.

Jelassi continued for 575,000 and called when Koutoupas raised to 1,400,000. The turn came {10-Spades} and Jelassi check-called a 2,250,000 bet before he checked on the {9-Clubs} river to face a shove worth 3,850,000. The Swede thought for a minute and elected to fold.

David Boyaciyan

The man who refused to deal when three-handed, turning down a guaranteed payout of €415,000 had just been eliminated in third place and will leave Prague with €310,000.

Sotirios Koutoupas opened to 240,000 on the button, David Boyaciyan three-bet to 560,000 and Ramzi Jelassi cold four-bet to 1,225,000. Koutoupas folded and Boyaciyan made the unconventional play of calling.

The dealer put out the {5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop and Boyaciyan shipped in his stack and Jelassi wasted little time in calling!

Boyaciyan: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Jelassi: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

Boyaciyan was way in front with his two pair, but the {3-Diamonds} gave Jelassi outs to the flush to go with his over cards. The dealer burned a card before putting the flush completing {J-Diamonds} onto the river, busting Boyaciyan and sending the tournament into heads-up.
