Johnson Makes Eighty-Seven

• Level 3: 300-600, 0 ante

Marco Johnson was under the gun and raised up the action. Ismael Bojang made it three bets from the cutoff and it folded back to Johnson who called. Both players took one new card at the first draw and checked to the second draw where they each took one again.

Johnson checked for a second time and Bojang fired out a bet. Johnson called and drew one card for a third time. Bojang stood pat.

On the final betting round, Johnson tossed out a bet and Bojang called for a showdown. Johnson tabled his {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} which was enough to take down the pot. Johnson now sits around 53,000 while Bojang has fallen to 45,000.

Elezra Over Kassela

• Level 3: 300-600, 0 ante

Frank Kassela raised before the first draw and it folded around to Eli Elezra in the small blind. He made it three bets to go and it folded back around to Kassela who called.

Elezra drew one while Kassela took two. Elezra led out and Kassela called to see the next draw. Elezra once again drew one and Kasslea took two. Elezra led and Kassela stuck around.

On the final draw, Elezra stood pat and checked his option as well. Kassela took one card but quickly knuckled the table back, announcing that he picked up an ace. Elezra fanned {10-}{8-}{5-}{4-}{2-} and was pushed the pot. Last year's Triple Draw champion is now sitting on about 56,000 in chips.

Nguyen Raises

• Level 3: 300-600, 0 ante

Mike Gorodinsky popped it up with a raise and found a call from Don Nguyen in the cutoff. The button and blinds folded, leaving the duo heads up to the draw. Gorodinsky took one new card while Nguyen opted for two. Gorodinsky led with a bet and Nguyen called.

Both players took one card on the second draw and the action went check-check to the final draw where they both took one again. Gorodinsky led out only to have Nguyen come over the top. Gorodinsky kicked his cards in and Nguyen was awarded the pot.

Eighty-Seven for Rheem

• Level 2: 300-500, 0 ante

Chino Rheem opened with a raise only to have Shawn Buchanan make it three bets from the button. The blinds folded and Rheem called, taking two at the draw. Buchanan, on the other hand, took one. Rheem check-called a bet from Buchanan on the next betting round and each player took one new card on the second draw.

They both checked and Rheem stood pat while Buchanan drew one card for a third time. Rheem checked again and Buchanan did the same, showing the {9-Clubs} for a nine-low. Rheem threw {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-} on the felt and his eighty-seven was enough to win the pot. Rheem now sits around 50,000 in chips.

Volpe Beats Bach in Battle of the Blinds

• Level 2: 300-500, 0 ante

Action folded over to Paul Volpe in the small blind. He raised it up and found a call from David Bach. Both players took two new cards at the first draw. Volpe fired out a bet and Bach called. Volpe slapped the {K-Clubs} on the felt, drawing just one card at the second draw. Bach followed suit with a single card.

Both players checked this betting round and drew one card on the final draw. Volpe led out with a bet and Bach smiled before releasing his hand into the muck. Volpe picked up the pot and now has about 44,000 in chips.
